Handmade Christmas 2017

The calendar has turned to October and the Thanksgiving turkey is all gone. That means it is time to start thinking about Christmas cards, albums and tags! 

You are invited to join me for Handmade Christmas 2017. Shari Schaepper has once again opened up the clubhouse for our annual Christmas crafting fun night. There will be Christmas baking, drinks and music to get you in the Christmas spirit and ready for the upcoming holiday season.

     Date: Thursday, November 16th, 2017
     Time: 6:30pm until you are done
     Place: Mountain Creek Golf Course

This year there are seven different workshops to choose from including Christmas gift tags, cards and even a double page layout! Choose as many kits as you want!

1. Christmas Tags - $20

This kit contains all the materials to create 33 Christmas tags including 18 small stamped tags, 3 red embossed Christmas tree tags, 3 wreaths, 3 mason jars, 3 red cups and 3 embossed wreaths.

2. 3x3 Christmas Cards or Tags (choose one or both)

Create 16 adorable mini cards using the pre-cut materials including envelopes. 

Cost of pre-cut card kit is $15.

Don't want to fuss with envelopes? These cards can easily be turned into tags by simply punching a small hole and adding twine.  

Cost of pre-cut tag kit is $10.

3. Merriest Wishes Kit  - $35

Create 12 cards using the pre-cut materials in this kit and easy to follow instructions.

4.  Merry Everything Card Kit - $17

Pre-cut materials to make 10 cards. Stamps come separately so you can use mine at the workshop or purchase your own

5. Merry Everything Tag Kit - $14

Everything you need to make 10 foil-stamped gift tags. Stamps are sold separately so you can use mine at the workshop or purchase your own.

6. Noelle Layout Kit - $19

Everything you need to complete this beautiful 2 page layout including the page protector. 

7. Joyful Tidings Card Kit - $35

Create 12 cards using the pre-cut materials in this kit and easy-to-follow instructions. The interchangeable stamp images give you ultimate control over the creative process, so you can always make your cards your way.

Graduation Mini Albums

Do you have a child graduating this June? Or maybe she graduated last year and you haven't done anything with all those pictures you took before and after the ceremony. Maybe Grandma and Grandpa would love a keepsake of the Graduation Day as well? 

Since I do have a Grade 8 graduation this year and I need a gift album for my parents, I decided to make a workshop for all of my friends who also have children graduating in the near past or future. Is your graduation not for 2 years? Why not get it done now and you will be so happy when it finally arrives that you have that task already crossed off the to do list. Both styles of album are classic colours and designs so they won't look dated or too trendy.

Each kit will contain all of the supplies needed to make a 17 page mini album celebrating a Graduation Day with lots of spots for pictures of your grad in cap and gown, family and sibling photos, pictures with friends and favourite teachers, receiving their diploma and awards and, finally, pictures of the dance at the end of the night. 

I will be holding several workshops in my home to assist you in completing this project but it can easily be done on your own since all the pages will be pre-cut and detailed instructions are included. 

Workshops at my house will be held on 3 separate dates.  All of the workshops start at 6:30pm. You may be asked to join another workshop if minimum numbers are not met.

Both albums have the same title page and you can choose your own school colour for the title page.

Scrapping with Penelope!

I spent this past weekend creating beautiful spring and birthday layouts with this new CTMH workshop kit called Penelope.

These two layouts will live in Hilary's set of albums. I had a lot more pictures from her birthday so I created a few 6 x 8 pocket pages to go in between these pages. I love how it looks and that I was able to use almost all of my pictures from that day. I saved a few more to go in my 2014 chronological album for the month of May.

CTMH Seasonal Expressions and a Layout Kit

On January 1st, 2016 the Seasonal Expressions idea book from CTMH went live and it sure didn't disappoint! 

My favourite paper line right now is Charlotte and I also love the changes that CTMH has made to the workshop kits. They feature a new paper packet composition, more artwork and projects. Each scrapbooking kit features a main scrapbooking project that includes three traditional layouts and one pocket scrapbooking Picture My Life layout. Additionally, with the leftover materials from the scrapbooking kit you can make 9 beautiful cards.  Since I love combining traditional layouts and pocket pages I was a very happy scrapper to see this. Plus who doesn't need pretty cards! 

So I set out one crop day to make the entire workshop and see how it turned out. I was very impressed.

My husband's cousin got married in April 2011 and I have had these gorgeous pictures sitting in a folder since then just waiting for the perfect paper to arrive. Hello Charlotte! I made two of the three layouts using my favourite photos from the day. These layouts will live in my People We Love album according to Stacy Julian's Library of Memories system. 

Because I still had a a ton of nice pictures left over that told more of the story I used the pocket pages to make several more layouts. The kit shows you how to make a double pocket page spread but I was able to make 3 double page spreads by adding a few extra cards from other CTMH Picture My Life sets. 

Gold overlays were used in this layout. I love the peekaboo effect it gives the pages when they are laying on top of each other

It is hard to see in the picture but I used a white overlay on the right page as well as the gold bows from the Fundamentals Gold Assortment set. The "sweet and sassy" card is from the Beautiful You card set, another of my absolute favourites from the Annual idea book.

I used another gold overlay on the last page of my layout. 

These pocket pages will live in my 2011 album. And with that the wedding was finally scrapbooked and will get to be enjoyed by my family instead of continuing to sit in a folder on my shelf. It feels so great to finish a project. 

But I still had to do one more double page layout. I had the perfect pictures in mind when I saw the title card that came with the paper. 

For the first time in many years my entire family was together at Christmas so we hired the extremely talented Hannah Martin to capture some family photos for us. I will be making many more pages with these gorgeous pictures but this layout was a wonderful start. 

This workshop was a nice little break from my December Daily album that I have been working with since November 2015. I am almost done and am really looking forward to making the next new Seasonal Expressions workshop. Stay tuned to find out what will be next!

This is probably my favourite non-holiday paper line in the new Fall/Winter 2013 CTMH Idea Book.
