Come Join the CTMH Regatta!

This month I have been playing with the Regatta paper collection from Close To My Heart. I tweaked the workshop kit a bit by adding a few extra sheets of white cardstock to use as backgrounds instead of the pattern paper. This allowed me to make an extra single page layout and make several more pocket pages. I still have more paper leftover to make even more pocket pages this week.

I also added in some cards from the Picture My Life collection called Love Your Selfie. It matches very well with Regatta. This layout is going to be my title page for my Nangor Resort album so I will add an end date under the "2011" when it is completed (hopefully we will continue to go for many years!) Alphabet stamps used here are Framework and Handwritten Print. I also added gold sequins to my layouts which are not included in the workshop kit.

I also used the Ink Blot stamp set on the edges of the background cardstock

This is a layout from the workshop kit but I changed the background paper to the white cardstock. I wanted to use my Ink Blot stamp set in this layout and I love the way it turned out.

A 4x6 flip flap was used to add more pictures

This layout is almost exactly like the workshop kit except for some of the embellishment clusters and the gold sequins.

I used one of the cut apart cards from the kit instead of a picture so I could use the Hit the Road stamp set.

This layout is exactly like the workshop kit except for the background paper. I loved this ombre paper so much I had to use it on this layout and I am extremely happy with the results.

The following pocket pages document a three day trip to our favourite summer resort with friends. I also used the PML Love Your Selfie cards here. "Capture the Details" title was cut out on the CTMH circut cartridge Artbooking.

"You and Me" and "fun & sun" title were also cut on Artbooking circut cartridge.

"You've captured my heart" stamp set is from the April stamp of the month "Life in Pictures"

"endless summer" and "paradise" cut out on Arbooking cartridge. Camp Rules photo was printed from Pinterest

"Smiles" cut out on Artbooking cartridge

Scrapping with Penelope!

I spent this past weekend creating beautiful spring and birthday layouts with this new CTMH workshop kit called Penelope

Layout #1

This page is just a peek into our lives during the spring of 2012

Layout #2

This paper line matched perfectly with Hilary's 9th birthday photos and our trip to Build-a-Bear

Instead of a picture I used one of the Beautiful You Picture My Life cards

Layout #3

More birthday pictures
These two layouts will live in Hilary's set of albums. I had a lot more pictures from her birthday so I created a few 6 x 8 pocket pages to go in between these pages. I love how it looks and that I was able to use almost all of my pictures from that day. I saved a few more to go in my 2014 chronological album for the month of May.

You can now get these 6 x 8" pocket pages from CTMH! Both 4 x 6" and 3 x 4"

Layout #4 using Pocket Pages

This layout is the start in a series that will capture our March break 2015 when family came to visit us

I will also create 8 cards with this kit but I haven't quite finished them yet so that will be in a later post.

CTMH Seasonal Expressions and a Layout Kit

On January 1st, 2016 the Seasonal Expressions idea book from CTMH went live and it sure didn't disappoint!

My favourite paper line right now is Charlotte and I also love the changes that CTMH has made to the workshop kits. They feature a new paper packet composition, more artwork and projects. Each scrapbooking kit features a main scrapbooking project that includes three traditional layouts and one pocket scrapbooking Picture My Life layout. Additionally, with the leftover materials from the scrapbooking kit you can make 9 beautiful cards.  Since I love combining traditional layouts and pocket pages I was a very happy scrapper to see this. Plus who doesn't need pretty cards

So I set out one crop day to make the entire workshop and see how it turned out. I was very impressed.

My husband's cousin got married in April 2011 and I have had these gorgeous pictures sitting in a folder since then just waiting for the perfect paper to arrive. Hello Charlotte! I made two of the three layouts using my favourite photos from the day. These layouts will live in my People We Love album according to Stacy Julian's Library of Memories system.

Because I still had a a ton of nice pictures left over that told more of the story I used the pocket pages to make several more layouts. The kit shows you how to make a double pocket page spread but I was able to make 3 double page spreads by adding a few extra cards from other CTMH Picture My Life sets.

Gold overlays were used in this layout. I love the peekaboo effect it gives the pages when they are laying on top of each other

It is hard to see in the picture but I used a white overlay on the right page as well as the gold bows from the Fundamentals Gold Assortment set. The "sweet and sassy" card is from the Beautiful You card set, another of my absolute favourites from the Annual idea book.

I used another gold overlay on the last page of my layout.

These pocket pages will live in my 2011 album. And with that the wedding was finally scrapbooked and will get to be enjoyed by my family instead of continuing to sit in a folder on my shelf. It feels so great to finish a project.

But I still had to do one more double page layout. I had the perfect pictures in mind when I saw the title card that came with the paper.

For the first time in many years my entire family was together at Christmas so we hired the extremely talented Hannah Martin to capture some family photos for us. I will be making many more pages with these gorgeous pictures but this layout was a wonderful start.

This workshop was a nice little break from my December Daily album that I have been working with since November 2015. I am almost done and am really looking forward to making the next new Seasonal Expressions workshop. Stay tuned to find out what will be next!

Summer Creations Blog Hop

Welcome to the •MAKE•IT•Crafty• Seasonal Blog Hop!

This month we will be featuring summer paper crafting creations.

If you’ve arrive from Pam Furlong's Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants here.

This month we have a number of Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using various CTMH products to help you get in the mood to scrapbook your summer fun. Not that we need a lot of help in that area! I have been ready for summer for months now!

Because February was so cold here I decided that I needed to immerse myself in summer photos to remind me that we actually do get nice weather here! Here are my creations:

The first collection of layouts is an entire week long camping trip we took last summer. I chose the pocket page approach because of the number of photos I wanted to use. Most of the paper used in this project is the Seaside Picture My Life (PML) collection but I also used some Surf's Up and Hopscotch PML cards and a few other non-CTMH cards and embellishments.

the happy birthday picture is actually a flip flap

Products Used:
Seaside Picture My Life
Seaside Compliments
Surf's Up Picture My Life
For Always Picture My Life
Hopscotch Picture My Life - retired
lagoon hearts washi tape
black arrow washi tape
4" x 6" flip flaps

For the next set of layouts I used the National Scrapbooking Month Taste of Summer exclusive paper collection to document a BBQ. I was so happy to see the colours worked so well with these pictures even though they were taken 2 years ago! I added my journalling and a few more embellishments after taking these pictures.

This next set of layouts is one of my favourites using the Surf's Up Picture My Life kit.

Look for our next Blog Hop in the fall where we will feature products from the new 2015-2016 Annual Inspirations Idea book! But first enjoy your summer!
