New Program Launch - Reflections and Random Memories

Remember when the only thing on your mind was which game you and your best friend would play at your sleepover?
Remember when you’d play for hours with your dolls/toys/games?
Remember when you curled up on the couch to watch tv and everyone was happy to let you do that?
Remember when your future dreams seemed like forever away…..
There is a little girl living in each and every one of us women - that creative, free spirit who loves to get lost in a project.

My partner, Jen Charbonneau and I, are so excited to be launching our new program - “Reflections & Random Memories – Finding the Girl I Was…”
This month-long program of exploration involves at-home journaling followed by a Creative Retreat Day.
Journaling is a way of capturing our memories and committing them to paper. Something tremendously powerful happens when we write our thoughts down - we remember when….we find the girl who has shaped not only us but also the people around us.
Members of the program will come together on our Creative Retreat Day to share memories and insight and then create a beautiful 12 x 12 memory page from your personal journey of “Finding the Girl I Was …”.  This tangible memory page will reflect the results of your exploration of discovering who you were, who you are and who you are becoming!
For some of us, this may be a challenge while for others, it may be something you already do.  Wherever you are is where you start.

Here’s how the program works.
You can register by phone or email with either Jen or I and we will arrange for payment to be made.
Then, beginning March 1st, every two (2) days you will receive by email a new question to ponder and prompt your journaling.  The questions will revolve around the central theme of re-discovering and remembering that little girl that lives inside of you.  (sample questions:  what was your favourite fairytale?  Why?  Who was your best friend?  What was your favourite food?  Did you collect anything as a girl?  What? )
As your “story” unfolds, you’ll not only make amazing connections but your creative spirit will kick in and you’ll be flooded with ideas for your creative retreat day.
Jen and I will have most supplies available as a part of your sign up fee, but you will bring your own photos and stories to include.
If you are a parent, we know that you LOVE, LOVE, LOVE doing things for your family.  If you are a woman, we also know that you seldom take time to reflect on your own life, your own accomplishments, your own dreams and your own creative “little girl”.
Capturing your own story within a creative, beautiful memory is something you’ll be so happy you did.
When children see adults doing things that are important to us, we actually teach them a very valuable lesson – commitment to something important to us is a demonstration of our own self worth.  We may believe we teach our children by what we say but believe it or not, most children learn more by observing what we do and then deciding if that lines up with what we say.   Kids are pretty smart, not to mention intuitive.
Journaling brings out that powerful, sensitive, creative, competent, intelligent, wise adult that we are.
Jen and I are available by email or phone over the course of the month leading up to the Creative Retreat Day to answer any questions, to listen, to clarify or to help in any way.
The Creative Retreat Day will be Saturday, April 2, 2011 and will begin at 1pm.  We will host this event at the Arnprior Public Library.   We’ll spend time reflecting, discussing and getting to know one another before we get to work on our projects.  Plan to be with us that day until about 5pm.
We understand some of you may live out of town while others live out of province or even out of Canada. We can appreciate the limits you set on how far you'll drive. Perhaps an hour or two drive on a Saturday in the spring isn't out of the question. Consider how far you have driven for events that involve your kids......
We’ve both included a sample of our pages and I have to say it was one of the most revealing projects I’ve ever done and have been inspired to scrapbook a layout around each of the questions I answered about myself.  I also must add that Jen is not an experienced scrapbooker and that there is no experience necessary.  You will amaze yourself at what you can create with a little bit of support and a whole lot of faith.

The inspiration for our pages came from http://www.karenika.com/. Check out her amazing layouts here.
The fee of $40 will include journaling prompt questions, scrapbooking supplies, tea/coffee/water on the creative retreat day and unlimited support leading up to that day.
You will leave the retreat day with a completed 12 x 12 memory masterpiece.  We will have 12 x 12 frames on hand for purchase.
Registration deadline, complete with payment, is Sunday, February 27, 2011 and questions will begin to arrive in your inbox on Tuesday, March 1, 2011
The program is open to adult women only and once registered, there will be no refunds.
If you have any questions or need more clarity, we would be pleased to speak with you at any time.
We look forward to you being a part of  “Reflections & Random Memories – Finding the Girl I Was…”

*** The inspiration for the title of our class came from the amazing mind of my scrapping guru Stacy Julian.
